As a follow-up to our previous conversation “Government funding for Cleantech” we are turning our attention to the state of the Public Capital Markets and the much anticipated and frequently debated recovery in the IPO markets. Our panelists from the Banking, Legal, Venture Capital, Private Equity and the Private Wealth Management sectors will address a number of questions relating to the current state of the capital markets such as:
- What macroeconomic trends could potentially advance or retract the recovery of the IPO markets and what does this mean for companies who have filed S-1’s or who are considering this strategy?
- What can we understand from Cleantech companies which have had successful exits through an M&A or IPO so far and what challenges do they face?
- What can we learn from the recent IPO’s of A123 Systems (AONE) and STR Holdings, Inc (STRI)?
- How do the Private Equity and Venture Capital communities view the potential for IPO rebound in the context of their portfolio companies and how are they qualifying their companies as potential candidates for an IPO or M&A exit?
- How will Cleantech companies with highly regulated industries fare in the public markets given the intense need for capital and scale in certain sectors?
