Vivian Lei is an associate in the Patent Litigation Group in the Palo Alto office.  Her practice focuses on litigating intellectual property cases relating to a wide range of technologies, including semiconductor, liquid crystal display, telecommunications, optical storage media, software, electronic systems, computer network, and digital security.  

Before entering the practice of law, Ms. Lei was an electrical engineer at several high-tech companies including Motorola and Honeywell.  She also served as a technical advisor for the patent litigation department of three international law firms, and participated in numerous high-stakes proceedings before the U.S. District Courts and Section 337 proceedings before the U.S. International Trade Commission. 

Ms. Lei received her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She received her Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as the Lead Articles Editor of The Tax Lawyer law journal, the Vice President of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association, and a Student Attorney for a low-income housing clinic.
