General Artificial Intelligence Law, Bill No. PL 310/2025-2026
The Bill would establish a general legal framework governing the development, implementation, and use of AI systems in Bolivia and would apply to public and private, domestic and foreign natural and legal persons operating in the country. It emphasizes ethical and responsible AI, security, transparency, non-discrimination, and protection of fundamental rights.
Law Regulating the Development, Implementation and Use of Artificial Intelligence Systems, PL 288/2025-2026
The Bill would establish a risk-based regulatory framework for AI systems, classifying uses as minimum, moderate, elevated, or maximum risk. Elevated-risk uses include AI used in employment, creditworthiness, education, health, essential services, and law enforcement, while developers and deployers would be subject to risk-management and other compliance requirements.
Promotion, Management and Use of Artificial Intelligence, PLS 178/2024-2025
The Bill would regulate the responsible use and supervision of AI and applies to public and private persons that develop, implement, commercialize, or use AI systems affecting persons in Bolivia. It would establish rights relating to automated decisions and explanations, transparency obligations for AI providers, post-market monitoring and auditing of high-risk systems, and prohibitions on specified manipulative and other high-risk AI practices.
