Guidance on the Ethical Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence (August 18, 2021)

These guidelines published by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data include practical guidance, ethical principles for AI and a self -assessment checklist to assist organizations in complying with the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) in their development and use of AI.

Ethical Artificial Intelligence Framework

This Framework, published by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer and developed for internal adoption within the Government, has been revised for general reference by organizations adopting AI, and includes guidelines for the ethical planning, design and implementation of AI projects or services.

This Framework provides guidance and recommendations for organizations procuring and using AI systems, including predictive and generative AI systems, that involve the use of personal data.

Issued by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), this circular contains guiding principles for consumer protection with respect to the use of GenAI in customer-facing applications.

The Circular addresses the use of generative AI language models for licensed corporations offering services or functionality provided by generative AI language models (AI LMs) or AI LM-based third-party products in relation to their regulated activities.  The Circular outlines four core principles that an LC may implement together with specific requirements.  The Circular also includes an appendix containing a non-exhaustive list of risk factors in relation to the use of generative AI LMs, which is intended to be read together with the core principles discussed in the Circular.
