Bill No. 162,2024 – “Establishing the Legal Framework, Promotion, and Development of Artificial Intelligence in the Republic of Panama” (Introduced May 2, 2025)

The purpose is to establish the legal framework for the development, implementation, and use of AI, in order to guarantee the protection of human rights, security, and privacy of individuals, as well as to promote innovation and technological development, ensuring that its use is carried out in an ethical, safe, and human rights-respecting manner and laying the groundwork for a National Artificial Intelligence Policy.
Bill No. 149 - Law on the Promotion and Investment in Artificial Intelligence (Introduced October 30, 2023)

The purpose is to contribute to the development and diversification of the national economy by promoting investment in the field of AI through incentives for the research, development, application, and use of this technology in Panamanian companies, as well as the creation of new jobs through the development of a local technology industry.
