Saudi Arabia’s national strategy for data and AI establishes the Kingdom’s strategic objectives through 2030 in areas including skills, AI-friendly policy and regulation, investment, research and innovation, and development of the data and AI ecosystem.
The Guidelines address adoption and responsible use of generative AI, associated risks and challenges, responsible-use principles and recommended practices.
The Framework provides a structured approach for organizations across sectors to adopt AI, addressing organizational readiness, strategy, governance, technology, data, human capabilities and responsible AI use.
The Framework provides publi- and private-sector organizations with a national methodology for managing AI risks. It addresses defining the context and scope of an AI system, identifying and assessing risks, selecting risk treatments, and continuously monitoring and reviewing AI risks.
The guidance addresses risks including misinformation, identity misuse and privacy violations and recommends measures for responsible development and use of deepfake technologies.
The Guide identifies more than 100 types of bias that may affect the accuracy and fairness of AI systems. It explains how different forms of bias arise, their potential impact on individuals and society, and provides real-world examples and practical strategies for identifying and mitigating bias to support more transparent and equitable AI systems.
The AI Ethics Principles establish a national framework for the responsible development and use of AI and apply broadly to stakeholders designing, developing, deploying, implementing or using AI systems within Saudi Arabia. The document also describes the responsibilities of relevant entities, including the SDAIA's role as the regulatory, supervisory, and enforcement authority, and the requirement for adopting entities to nominate individuals to fulfil various AI Ethics-related roles.
