MoFo has a long-standing commitment to the advancement of women. Our Women’s Strategy Committee works with firm leaders to ensure that the retention and promotion of talented women lawyers is a constant priority.
As its first project, the WSC created a clearer articulation of the firm’s reduced-hours policy. The resulting changes have proven instrumental in producing a work environment that allows working parents to fulfill obligations outside the firm while meeting the needs of the firm and its clients.
We are an industry leader when it comes to our commitment to flexible work arrangements, generous paid parental leave, and ensuring that lawyers who take advantage of family-friendly programs are not excluded from partnership or leadership tracks.
In annual policy surveys conducted by Yale Law Women and Working Mother magazine, we rank among the top U.S. firms for implementing best practices in retaining and promoting women lawyers.
For six consecutive years, the Women in Law Empowerment Forum has honored us as a Gold Standard Firm in recognition of the integration of women into the firm’s top leadership. One of our four firmwide managing partners is a woman. The co-chair of our Corporate Department is a woman, and the deputy chair of the Finance Department is a woman. In addition, 14 other women either chair or co-chair our practice and industry groups.
Above all else, MoFo counts among its lawyers some of the top women in the legal profession today. Our women lawyers are regularly honored at events such as the Chambers USA Women in Law Awards and Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Americas Women in Business Law Awards and European Women in Business Law Awards. Year in and year out, MoFo’s women lawyers rank among the New York Law Journal’s Top Women in Law, the Daily Journal’s top 100 women lawyers in California, Global Competition Review’s top 100 women in antitrust law, San Francisco Business Times’ most influential women in Bay Area business, Silicon Valley Business Journal’s women of influence, and The Recorder’s women leaders in tech law.
Yale Law Women has named MoFo to its annual Top 10 Family Friendly Firms lists for three consecutive years. We were also identified as one of the Top Five Firms in California.
