Alayna’s practice focuses on patent preparation, prosecution, and counseling for a variety of technology areas, such as medical devices and imaging systems, software, machine learning, and industrial processing.
Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Alayna was a summer associate in the Two-Summer Patent Program at Morrison Foerster. She also worked as a law clerk while pursuing her law degree, supporting MoFo patent attorneys in preparing patent applications and office action responses.
She received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served as the co-president of the Korean American Law Student Association and was on the editorial board for the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology.
Before attending law school, Alayna worked as an analyst at a global investment bank. While there, Alayna managed strategic cross-divisional projects for the bank and coordinated a bank engineering team effort to develop financial projection models for stress-testing and internal business planning.
Alayna holds a B.S.E. magna cum laude in chemical and biomolecular engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. She is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and is registered to practice before the USPTO.
