Andrew Freiwald is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s San Francisco office and a member of the firm’s Capital Markets group and Public Company Advisory & Governance practice.

Andrew’s practice focuses on securities regulation, SEC reporting and compliance, proxy and shareholder issues, corporate governance, and corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining the firm, Andrew was a summer associate in Morrison Foerster's San Francisco and Tokyo offices. He also served as an Honors Program Legal Intern with the SEC’s Division of Enforcement in San Francisco.

Andrew earned his J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where he was an editor for the UC Davis Business Law Journal. He holds a B.A. in economics, international relations, and Japanese from the University of California, Davis.

Prior to attending law school, Andrew worked at a leading global investment bank in Tokyo, Japan.

Andrew is fluent in Japanese.
