Colby Woodis is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison Foerster’s Washington, D.C. office.

Colby has a strong foundation in legal research, fact development, and advocacy, all of which are informed by his work in federal prosecutors’ offices.

As an associate and summer associate in Morrison Foerster’s Washington, D.C. office, Colby worked on complex matters in national security, antitrust, and white-collar investigations.

While in law school, Colby worked as a legal intern with the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division’s Criminal II Section, where he helped investigate possible violations of the Sherman Act for bid rigging. As a legal extern with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia, he had first-hand experience as a prosecutor.

Colby obtained his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the editorial board of the Virginia Journal of International Law and was vice president of Virginia Law First Generation Professionals. Prior to law school, Colby taught early elementary special education in Nashville, Tennessee. He holds both an M.Ed. from Lipscomb University and a B.A. in political economy from Tulane University.
