Camila Tapernoux is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison Foerster’s San Francisco office. Her practice focuses on complex litigation with an emphasis on class action and commercial litigation.

Camila has extensive experience representing technology firms, consumer products companies, and healthcare providers in class action cases and complex commercial disputes, including unfair competition, false advertising, and product liability matters. She has also represented clients in numerous intellectual property matters, including patent, copyright, and trade secret litigation. She has experience in all stages of the litigation process, including pleadings, motion practice, electronic discovery, preliminary injunctions, depositions, summary judgment motions, oral argument, and trial.

Camila received her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where she was an editor for the Science and Technology Law Review and served on the board of the Society for Law, Science, and Technology. She received her B.A. from Stanford University in human biology with a concentration in science and technology policy.

Unilever USA Inc.

Represents Unilever in a long-running false advertising suit for its vegetable oil, “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!” spray.

Waymo LLC v. Uber Technologies Inc. et al.

(Northern District of California). Represented Uber in a high-profile trade secrets case relating to autonomous vehicle technology. Parties reached a settlement after plaintiff dropped its patent claims and its damages expert report was excluded.

Phoenix Technologies, Ltd. v. VMware, Inc.

(Northern District of California). Won a jury verdict for VMware defending against a $110 million claim by Phoenix Technologies on allegations of copyright infringement and breach of a license agreement for Phoenix's BIOS software.
