Chrys Carey is an of counsel in the Washington, D.C., office of Morrison Foerster, where he represents clients in a wide variety of derivatives transactions and advises them on derivatives regulatory and compliance issues. Mr. Carey’s clients include investment companies, hedge funds, foreign and domestic banks, central banks, multilateral development banks and corporate end-users. He negotiates ISDA Master Agreements and other trading documents, including prime brokerage documents, clearing and execution agreements and related collateral arrangements. He also advises his clients on a broad array of derivatives regulatory issues arising under the Commodity Exchange Act and the rules and regulations of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Mr. Carey also represents commercial banks, investment banks, investment companies, broker-dealers, hedge funds and asset managers in secondary market loan transactions, including transfers of claims and proceeds resulting from bankruptcies and other restructuring transactions.

Mr. Carey has extensive experience representing banks, underwriters and financial guarantors in a wide variety of other capital markets and financing transactions, including asset-based loan origination, residential MBS, ABS and other structured finance transactions.

Mr. Carey has been recognized as a ‘rising star’ by IFLR1000 in 2018 and 2019.
