Deniz Yanmaz is a consultant in Morrison Foerster’s Brussels office and a member of the Antitrust practice group.

He advises clients on all aspects of European and German antitrust and competition law. His main areas of practice include cartel investigations and abuse of dominance investigations conducted by the European Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office, as well as related litigation before European and German courts. Deniz also advises on merger control and global regulatory approval strategies. He covers the entire spectrum from compliance counseling to administrative proceedings and subsequent antitrust court proceedings, as well as damages actions. His practice particularly focuses on the technology, life sciences, aviation, automotive, and financial services sectors.

Before joining Morrison Foerster, Deniz was part of the global IP team of a leading pharmaceutical company in Basel, Switzerland, mainly working on legal commercial IP, international patent litigation, and legal brand protection.

Deniz studied at the University of Konstanz and completed his legal clerkship at the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court. He is currently pursuing a postgraduate LL.M. in London (Queen Mary University of London/UCL), concentrating on International IP and Competition Law.

Deniz is admitted to the bar in Germany and speaks German, English, and Turkish.
