Emani Walks is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison Foerster’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Securities Litigation Group.

Emani represents corporations and their officers and directors in complex investigations and litigation. She has extensive experience representing corporations in securities class actions, derivative suits, and other complex commercial litigation. Her practice also includes representing corporations in both government-facing and internal regulatory investigations brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). Emani also maintains an active pro bono practice.

Before joining the firm, Emani was an associate at an AmLaw 100 firm in Washington, D.C., where she represented corporations and universities in complex commercial litigation, internal investigations, and regulatory proceedings initiated by shareholders or governmental agencies including the SEC, DOJ, and Department of Education (DOE).

Emani earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law. During law school, Emani served as managing editor for the Duke Journal of Gender Law & Policy and as the director of academic advising for the Black Law Students Association.
