Fumiko Masuda is an associate at the Litigation Department of Morrison Foerster Law Offices.

Fumiko advises clients on a wide range of commercial disputes with a focus on intellectual property, contractual disputes as well as regulatory investigations. She has experience representing multinational clients in litigations pending before Japanese courts and anti-trust investigations conducted by the Japan Fair Trade Commission.

Fumiko also took on a part-time secondment role at the Japan branch of a U.S.-headquartered multinational technology company, where she supported the client’s in-house legal team in contractual and IP-related matters.

Fumiko received her B.A. in Humanities from Kobe University, her J.D. from the University of Tokyo Law School, her LL.M. from University College London, and completed her training at the Legal Training and Research Institute of the Supreme Court of Japan (71st trainee). Before starting her private practice career, she worked for an in‑house legal department.

Fumiko is a bengoshi admitted to practice in Japan and is a member of the Dai-Ichi Tokyo Bar Association.
