Garrett is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of the firm’s Capital Markets Group.
Garrett represents public and private companies in a wide range of corporate and securities matters, including initial public offerings, equity offerings, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings, and M&A-related agreements. He advises companies on corporate governance, public company reporting requirements, securities law compliance, and other disclosure obligations.
Prior to joining Morrison Foerster, Garrett was a summer associate at the firm. He also served as a summer associate at a large national law firm, supporting matters involving loan obligations and analyzing legislative developments impacting corporate clients.
Garrett earned his J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University Law School, where he was a George Washington Scholar. During law school, he served as a staff editor of the GW Business and Finance Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Board. He received a Global M.B.A. from The George Washington University School of Business, where he was a Business School Fellowship recipient and graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma distinction. Garrett received his B.S., summa cum laude, from Florida State University in economics and Chinese language and culture and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Garrett is proficient in Mandarin Chinese and has basic proficiency in Hungarian.
