Heather Han is an associate in the New York office of Morrison Foerster and a member of the Investigations + White Collar Defense and Securities Enforcement groups. She focuses her practice on representing corporations and executives in connection with internal and government-facing investigations brought by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other enforcement agencies, including those involving allegations of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations, securities fraud, insider trading, wire fraud, healthcare fraud, money laundering, and other white collar matters. Heather was named a New York Metro Rising Star for White Collar Crimes (2021) by Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers.

Prior to joining Morrison Foerster, Heather was an associate at a boutique litigation law firm in New York, where she represented corporate and individual clients in a wide range of white collar criminal defense and complex commercial litigation matters.

Heather has an active commitment to pro bono work, with a focus on defending indigent criminal defendants facing felony charges in federal court. She has conducted oral arguments at bail and sentencing hearings in the Southern District of New York and in an appeal in the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Heather received her J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law, where she was a Robert McKay Scholar, served as staff editor on the Moot Court Board, and was a student attorney in the Federal Defender Clinic. Heather also holds an LL.M. in international legal studies from New York University School of Law. Between receiving her LL.M. and J.D., Heather worked as a research scholar at New York University School of Law’s U.S.-Asia Law Institute where she conducted comparative studies of the criminal justice systems in the United States and China. Heather also holds an LL.B. from Fudan University in China.
