James Dabell is an associate based in the London office of Morrison Foerster and is a member of the Corporate Group.
James advises on a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint venture transactions, technology investments and corporate restructurings.
Prior to joining Morrison Foerster, James trained and practiced (specializing in tax) at the London office of an international law firm. During this time, he also spent six months seconded to the firm’s Hong Kong office. James earned a B.A. in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Legal Practice from the University of Law.

- Imerys SA, on its joint venture with British Lithium, to accelerate development of the UK’s first integrated producer of battery-grade lithium carbonate.
- Tate & Lyle PLC, on its acquisition of Quantum Hi-Tech (Guangdong) Biological Co., Ltd (Quantum), a leading prebiotic dietary fiber business in China, from ChemPartner Pharmatech Co., Ltd., for a total consideration of US$237 million.
- Heidrick & Struggles, Inc., on its acquisition of businessfourzero, a UK based leadership consultancy specialising in purpose-driven change.
- SoftBank Vision Fund II, as lead investor in a $190 million Series B financing round of PrimaryBid, a UK fintech platform.
- Visa, on various strategic investments, including on an investment in TerraPay, a global payments infrastructure company, in connection with its €91.74 million Series B financing round.
- eBay Ventures, on various strategic investments, including on an investment in the $9.25 million Series A financing round of Cudoni, an online luxury goods second-hand marketplace.
