Jinna Kwak is of counsel in Morrison Foerster’s Los Angeles office and a member of the firm’s Tax Group.
Jinna practices tax-exempt organization law with a focus on advising organizations in the impact investment space and handling transactional matters for grantmaking and operating charities, including nonprofits with for-profit subsidiaries and/or affiliates. She has represented a variety of private foundations, public charities, and their donors, with significant experience advising on complex reorganizations, regulatory audits, and general corporate and tax law issues for nonprofits. She has presented on philanthropic issues at various conferences, including the Western Conference on Tax Exempt Organizations and the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.
Before joining MoFo, Jinna was of counsel at a boutique firm specializing in nonprofit law and a corporate associate at a large international law firm. She received her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her A.B. in economics at Harvard.
