A frequent speaker on securities litigation topics at events and conferences across the United States, Jordan actively participates in programs put on by The SEC Enforcement Forum, the Practising Law Institute, and the Stanford Directors’ College. He has twice taught “Modern Securities Fraud Litigation: Public and Private Enforcement” as an adjunct at Stanford Law School. He has also authored dozens of articles on securities litigation.
Jordan served as a law clerk to the Honorable Chief Judge Robert F. Peckham, United States District Court for the Northern District of California, from August 1985 through August 1986. From 1980 through 1982, he worked as an economist in Washington, D.C., first for the United States Department of Energy and then for the Budget Committee of the United States House of Representatives.

MaxLinear, Inc.
(9th Cir.; S.D. Cal.) Representing MaxLinear and two of its officers in class action, opt-out, and derivative suits alleging false or misleading statements about the company’s intent to complete a merger with Silicon Motion. Plaintiffs allege that they were injured when MaxLinear terminated the merger, causing the price of Silicon Motion ADSs to fall. The class action was dismissed with prejudice and is on appeal to the Ninth Circuit.
OpenAI
(N.D. Cal.) Served as co-counsel for OpenAI and two current executives in a claim for breach of charitable trust brought by Elon Musk. Obtained a verdict in favor of all defendants after trial.

(C.D. Cal.) Representing Rivian and two of its officers in a securities class action alleging false statements about Rivian’s demand and expected profitability.

(N.D. Cal.) Won a motion to dismiss with prejudice for Unity and three former officers in a securities class action alleging false statements about Unity’s Audience Pinpointer tool. Plaintiffs did not appeal.
Precision Castparts Corp.
(D. Or.) Represented Precision Castparts and its CEO and CFO in a securities class action relating to the company’s long-term guidance. The district court granted summary judgment, dismissing all claims. The Ninth Circuit affirmed.
Pivotal Software Inc.
(N.D. Cal.; Super. Ct. San Francisco Cty.) Represented Pivotal and its executives in federal and state securities litigation. The plaintiffs alleged that Pivotal misled investors about the capabilities of its software products and sales projections as the company transitioned its product offerings. The district court granted our motion to dismiss the federal securities class action. Plaintiffs did not appeal.
