Katy Burgess, an associate in Morrison Foerster’s London office, advises on various national security matters, helping clients – including financial institutions and other multinational corporates – navigate all aspects of UK sanctions and export controls.

She acts across many sectors and in relation to a wide range of countries, including Russia, Syria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She has assisted clients classify their goods and obtain licenses from export control authorities, and regularly gives legal and practical advice on the impact of trade regulations on clients’ compliance programmes, transactions and business proposals.
