Kyotaro Ozawa (formerly, Hemmi) is an of counsel of Morrison Foerster’s Tokyo office. He focuses his practice on litigation, with particular experience in disputes involving biologics, patents, and trade secrets.
Kyo advises clients on complex cross-border matters and manages disputes from pre-suit investigations through trial, including witness examinations. He regularly works with U.S. and Japanese stakeholders in highly coordinated cases that require seamless bilingual communication.
Born in Japan and raised in the United States, Kyo is bilingual in English and Japanese. Prior to joining Morrison Foerster in 2026, he practiced at two multinational law firms—first in New York where he represented clients at trial in state courts and presented arguments in more than 30 hearings, and later in a firm’s Tokyo office.
Kyo is admitted to practice law in New York and is qualified as a gaikokuho-jimu-bengoshi in Japan.
