Lara Anders is a member of the firm’s Investigations + White Collar Defense Group. She represents companies and individuals in complex commercial litigation, securities class actions, shareholder demands, derivative litigation, internal investigations, and SEC and DOJ investigations and enforcement proceedings.
Lara advises clients navigating high-stakes disputes involving governance, contract, and fraud claims, including claims arising under the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Her experience includes securing favorable outcomes in government investigations; achieving summary judgment and dismissals in securities class actions on behalf of both companies and individual executives; defending a regulatory appeal before the California Public Utilities Commission; and resolving complex data privacy litigation. Multiple matters have concluded with no enforcement action taken against her client or with favorable settlements.
Lara’s practice spans a broad range of industries, including artificial intelligence, technology, biotechnology, venture capital, consulting, cryptocurrency/blockchain, energy utilities, waste management, and government.
Lara graduated cum laude from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where she participated as a student-advocate in the Bluhm Legal Clinic’s Environmental Advocacy Center, served as an online articles editor of the Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology, and competed on behalf of the school’s ABA Negotiation Team. Before joining the firm, Lara was a summer associate at Morrison Foerster and clerked in the Illinois Attorney General’s office. She also interned at a law firm in Japan and at a video game company.
Lara holds a B.A. in political science and a B.A. in East Asian languages and cultures, summa cum laude, from the University of Southern California.
