Liam’s practice focuses on cross-border dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, sanctions, and white-collar crime investigations under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

He has also gained experience in private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital financings, as well as other general corporate matters during his training at the firm.

Liam is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.

  • A leading Fortune 100 life sciences company in multiple internal investigations regarding briberies of government officers and healthcare professionals, fraudulent sponsorship and fee-for-service events, misuse of patient assistance programs, improper collection of sensitive patient information and prescription data, and T&E expense issues in Mainland China and Taiwan.
  • A publicly listed global gaming platform in an internal investigation involving allegations of corruption and conflict of interest issues related to its hiring practices in China, with cross-border elements in the United States.
  • A leading global technology company in connection with: (1) product safety investigations conducted by Hong Kong authorities; (2) regulatory approval and rollout of new electronic products; and (3) other routine compliance advisory work, including product advertisement, waste disposal, trade description, credit card fraud, and network offering, etc.
  • A leading global technology company in various consumer claims in the Hong Kong courts, including the District Court, the High Court, and the Small Claims Tribunal (SCT). The issues involved include property loss, privacy breaches, and personal injury.
  • The ultimate beneficial shareholder of a Seychelles company in navigating parallel proceedings across jurisdictions including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Seychelles.
  • A U.S. biotechnology startup in an expedited SIAC arbitration proceeding concerning a contractual dispute against an established multinational contract development and manufacturing organization. The dispute arose out of a Development and Manufacturing Services Agreement and involved cross-claims for delay and performance-related damages.
