Max Bartell is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Business Restructuring + Insolvency Group.

Max advises clients on complex and strategic matters, including restructuring-related investigations and sponsor-side engagements, and brings prior experience managing internal investigations, high-stakes disputes, and multi-jurisdictional matters.

Before joining Morrison Foerster, Max was an associate at another large international firm and served as a law clerk for both a U.S. District Judge and a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Eastern District of New York.

Max earned his J.D. cum laude from St. John’s University School of Law where he was an articles editor of the St. John’s Law Review. He received his B.A. cum laude from Binghamton University, double majoring in philosophy, politics and law (PPL) and political science.
