Naoyuki Fukuda is an of counsel in the Finance Group of Morrison Foerster Law Offices.

Naoyuki’s practice focuses on the development and financing of renewable energy projects, as well as a wide range of corporate matters.

Prior to joining MoFo, Naoyuki practiced at an international law firm and worked for a leading Japanese company, where he advised clients on M&A, structured finance, and renewable energy transactions.

He received his LL.B. from the University of Tokyo.

Naoyuki is a bengoshi admitted to practice in Japan and a member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association. 

Representative Experience

  • Japan Solar Portfolio Development A UK infrastructure fund’s portfolio company in all aspects of the development and financing of a portfolio of nine solar power projects in Japan (approximately 200 MWp), including land acquisition, project finance, corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs), project agreements, and regulatory matters.
  • Japan Renewable Energy Corporate PPAs Multinational companies and renewable energy developers in corporate PPAs for renewable energy projects in Japan.
  • Japan Renewable Energy Regulatory Matters Domestic and international clients in offshore wind, battery energy storage system, and renewable energy regulatory matters, including offshore wind auction rules, long-term decarbonization auctions, and Japan’s Feed in Premium regime.
