Nicholas “Nick” Weigel is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison Foerster’s Washington, D.C. office.

Nick’s practice focuses on national security and white collar investigations and other matters. He has particular experience with matters involving sanctions, anti-money laundering, the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).

Before joining Morrison Foerster, Nick served as a legal intern with the U.S. Department of Justice National Security Division’s Counterintelligence and Export Control Section, where he worked on Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), Espionage Act, and sanctions matters. Nick also interned at the U.S. Attorney’s Offices for the Eastern District of New York and the District of Massachusetts.

Nick received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he served as co-editor-in-chief of the Harvard National Security Journal. He has published articles in Lawfare and the Stanford Technology Law Review. Prior to law school, Nick worked at the Council on Foreign Relations. He received his B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
