Peter Fusco helps founders build companies, investors deploy capital, and technology companies navigate every stage of growth—from formation through exit.

Peter Fusco is a partner in Morrison Foerster’s New York office and co-head of the firm’s Emerging Companies + Venture Capital (ECVC) practice. He has spent more than two decades helping build and lead some of New York’s premier technology practices—and advising the founders, companies, and investors at the center of its innovation economy.

He represents venture funds and technology companies throughout the entire company life cycle, from pre-incorporation planning and formation through angel, seed, venture, and growth financings to M&A and other exit transactions. Over the course of his career, he has closed hundreds of venture financings and M&A transactions, giving him a deep understanding of the legal and business considerations that drive successful outcomes. His practice spans a broad range of technology sectors, with particular experience in artificial intelligence, dual-use and defense technologies, deep space and satellite technologies, enterprise software, fintech, e-commerce, digital media, and consumer products. Peter serves on Morrison Foerster’s AI Steering Committee, is a founding supporter of NYU’s Center for Responsible AI, and is the lead ECVC partner for the firm’s Dual Use and Defense Technologies industry group.

Peter advises companies backed by many of the world’s leading venture capital investors, including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Goldman Sachs, Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Accel, General Catalyst, Bessemer Venture Partners, Insight Partners, Venrock, RTP Global, Crosslink Capital, Khosla Ventures, and Greycroft, among others.

Peter is deeply committed to supporting the next generation of founders and the broader technology ecosystem. For almost two decades, he has worked closely with NYU Tandon Future Labs and its incubator programs and has been an active participant in New York’s innovation community. He regularly engages with founders, students, and entrepreneurs through organizations and programs such as Columbia University, Cornell Tech, Techstars New York, and Supermomos New York, among others, and can frequently be found at the city’s technology hubs working with emerging founders as they build and scale their businesses.

His engagement with the technology ecosystem extends internationally. He is active in London’s technology community, supporting cross-border initiatives and working with Innovate UK, London & Partners, Supermomos London, NYU’s London campus, and other organizations across the UK innovation ecosystem. His involvement in both New York and London reflects a broader commitment to connecting founders, investors, and resources across two of the world’s leading technology markets.

Before practicing law, Peter served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a rifleman and crew-served weapons instructor in an Infantry unit. He graduated as the Distinguished Honor Graduate of his class at the United States Army Infantry School at Fort Benning, Georgia.
