R. Anthony Reese is Special Counsel in the business department in the San Francisco office of Morrison & Foerster LLP; his practice concentrates on counseling and transactions related to copyright and intellectual property laws, particularly in the online environment. He has advised clients, both emerging and established companies, from an array of industries.
Mr. Reese is a Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine. He was previously a law professor at the University of Texas at Austin for 10 years, and has been a visiting law professor at Stanford and NYU. He is the author of many articles on copyright law and is a co-author of leading casebooks on copyright and on intellectual property.
Mr. Reese has provided services on a pro bono basis to a number of nonprofit organizations.
Mr. Reese received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Yale University. He worked for several years in international educational exchange, including two years teaching in the People's Republic of China for the Yale-China Association. Mr. Reese earned his J.D. degree with distinction from Stanford University and is a member of the Order of the Coif.
