Ramsey Fisher is an experienced trial lawyer who represents clients in high-stakes, complex disputes across a broad range of practice areas in federal and state courts nationwide. Since 2023, he has tried six jury trials, a bench trial, a private arbitration, and a multiday evidentiary hearing. Across these matters, Ramsey played a central courtroom role, regularly examining and cross-examining witnesses, delivering jury statements, and arguing dispositive and evidentiary motions. Ramsey’s trial practice spans patent and copyright litigation, worker misclassification disputes, breach of contract and professional liability claims, and white-collar criminal defense.

Ramey’s representative experience includes:

  • Co-lead defense counsel in a landmark DMCA Section 1202 federal jury trial in Hartford, CT, holding a multibillion-dollar statutory damages claim to less than 1% of the amount sought.
  • Plaintiff’s counsel for a leading technology company in a patent federal jury trial in Wilmington, DE, securing a verdict of infringement and successfully defeating defendant’s invalidity counterclaim.
  • Defense counsel for a major video game company in a patent federal jury trial in Seattle, WA, securing verdict of non-infringement.
  • Defense counsel for one of the nation’s top law firms in a multiday JAMS arbitration, prevailing against plaintiff’s professional liability and breach of contract claims.
  • Defense counsel for a prominent Los Angeles politician in a federal public bribery trial.
  • Defense counsel for a leading technology company in a multiday evidentiary hearing, successfully compelling arbitration of plaintiff’s employee misclassification claim.

Ramsey also maintains an active pro bono practice, having tried two federal civil rights cases and representing indigent criminal defendants through the California Criminal Justice Act.

Prior to joining Morrison Foerster, he practiced at Durie Tangri LLP in San Francisco and clerked for the Honorable David C. Godbey in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas.

Ramsey graduated from Columbia Law School, where he was student senate president and both a James Kent and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
