Raziel Kohanbash is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s Los Angeles office and a member of the firm’s Tax Group.
Raziel advises clients on U.S. federal income tax matters, focusing on tax issues affecting emerging companies and founders. He develops tax-efficient strategies for closely held businesses, including QSBS planning, trust structuring, and intellectual property optimization, and counsels on the tax aspects of stock and asset transactions, financing arrangements, and deferred consideration. He also represents taxpayers in IRS examinations and penalty abatement matters.
Prior to joining Morrison Foerster, Raziel worked at a notable firm, where he advised on complex domestic and international tax issues and transactional planning. He also gained experience in private practice, working on tax controversy and residency matters.
Raziel earned his J.D. and LL.M. magna cum laude in taxation from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class. He earned his B.A. summa cum laude in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is admitted to practice in California.
