Richard Ahne is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s San Francisco office and a member of the firm’s Litigation Group.
Previously a summer associate at MoFo, Richard earned his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of California College of Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings).
During law school, Richard served as a certified student attorney for both the UC Law SF Appellate Project, co-writing a merits brief appealing a removal order before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Individual Representation Clinic, in which he and his partner won a discretionary dismissal petition before the San Mateo County Superior Court and argued a benefits appeal before a federal agency. He was also a judicial extern for the Hon. Goodwin Liu at the California Supreme Court, a board member on the UC Law SF Moot Court Team, and executive editor for acquisitions for the UC Law Journal of Race and Economic Justice.
Before his legal career, Richard worked on numerous electoral campaigns for local, state, and federal offices across five different states. He also interned for three different government offices in Washington, D.C. and conducted a local IRB‑approved, published study in Cape Town, South Africa.
He earned his B.A. in government and international relations, with an emphasis on leadership studies, from Claremont McKenna College.
