Samrin Ali is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison Foerster’s New York office.

Samrin’s practice focuses on securities and complex commercial litigation. She represents clients in matters involving state and federal securities laws, contractual disputes, corporate governance, regulatory investigations, and constitutional issues. She has experience across multiple phases of litigation, including trial.

Before joining Morrison Foerster, Samrin served as a law clerk to the Honorable Roopali H. Desai of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She previously held a fellowship at the Southern Center for Human Rights, where she worked on high-stakes criminal defense cases, helped secure a complete acquittal in a criminal case carrying a life-without-parole sentence, conducted oral arguments, and authored appellate briefs, including briefs submitted to the United States Supreme Court.

Samrin earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal. She holds both a B.S. in Science, Technology, and Society and an M.S. in Science and Technology Studies from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
