Tessa DeFranco is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Litigation Group.
Tessa’s practice focuses on general litigation, including complex civil litigation and public-interest matters.
Prior to joining Morrison Foerster, Tessa was a summer associate at the firm. She also worked in judicial and public defense settings on matters involving civil rights and federal constitutional law, serving as a judicial extern to the Honorable Valerie E. Caproni of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and in the immigration and criminal defense practices of the Bronx Defenders.
Tessa earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she graduated with high honors and was an editor of the Columbia Journal of Gender and Law and a member of the Williams Moot Court Team. She received her B.A. cum laude from Bowdoin College, where she double majored in government & legal studies and education.
