With a research background in medicinal chemistry, Dr. Thomas Dawson focuses on patent prosecution and IP due diligence for clients in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

Before joining the firm, Thomas held postdoctoral appointments at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Yale University, where he created molecular libraries designed to modulate cellular targets involved in cancer and hyperproliferative diseases. As a graduate student at the University of Virginia, he developed subtype-selective inhibitors of the sphingosine kinases, and was an ARCS Scholar.

Thomas earned a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Wyoming in 2011. He hails from Lander, WY.
