Timothy (“Tim”) Murphy serves as Chief Financial Officer at Morrison Foerster, where he plays an instrumental role in advancing the firm’s global financial business strategies and initiatives, while working with the executive leadership team to drive the firm’s continued growth and success.
In this role, he is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s global financial strategy and overall management of the firm’s finance and accounting operations. Working with the team, he plays a pivotal role in establishing and delivering upon long-range business goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
Before joining Morrison Foerster, Tim served as Chief Financial Officer – U.S. for an AmLaw Top 25 firm with 10 offices in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. During his more than 10-year tenure at the firm, he helped to manage and direct the firm’s strategic finance function. His responsibilities included advising management, policy committees, partners, and department heads on financial metrics, legal pricing, staffing, compensation, partner capital, and working capital management.
Prior to joining his last firm, Tim managed the financial system and accounting implementations at another prominent international firm. Before that, he held previous roles at two other leading international accounting firms.
Tim received his B.S. in accounting from Manhattan College.
