Victor Liang is a partner in Morrison Foerster’s New York office and is a member of the firm’s Finance Group.
Victor’s practice focuses on the representation of financial institutions, funds, companies and loan originators and servicers in connection with domestic and cross-border financial transactions and structured products.
He advises clients across a wide range of secured and unsecured deals, as well as the acquisition and financing of different assets classes, including consumer and marketplace loans, commercial loans, trade receivables, card receivables and certain esoteric assets.
Victor has substantial experience negotiating deals for clients in a wide range of industries and fields such as fintech, blockchain and digital assets, financial services and life sciences, with an expertise in financing innovative and cutting-edge companies with intellectual property (including software and hardware). Victor also has a particular expertise working on bespoke, “outside-the-box” transactions that not only address unique credit/collateral needs but also require creating legal structures that optimize asset management, licensing and tax impacts.
Victor has been recognized by The Legal 500, Chambers USA, the American Bar Association (ABA) and Best Lawyers in America for his expertise in banking and finance.
Victor is fluent in French. He earned his law degree from Georgetown Law and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California (B.A. International Relations and French).
