Dr. Wei Tang is an associate in Morrison Foerster’s San Francisco office and a member of the firm’s Patent Strategy and Prosecution Group.

Wei focuses her practice on patent portfolio management and IP due diligence, with an emphasis on chemistry and pharmaceuticals. She has more than a decade of experience in patent drafting and prosecution and works closely with domestic and international clients on life sciences technologies at various stages of development and commercialization. She handles all phases of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, manages global patent portfolios, conducts freedom-to-operate and invalidity analyses, and advises on IP issues in technology transactions. Her experience spans small molecule pharmaceuticals, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), pharmaceutical formulations and uses, nanomaterials, polymers, and medical devices.

Wei obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, and her B.S. in chemistry from Xiamen University. She received her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law. She is admitted in California and is fluent in Mandarin.
