Dr. Wendy Fong focuses her work on patent drafting, patent prosecution, and freedom-to-operate analyses, with an emphasis on biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

Prior to joining Morrison Foerster, Wendy was a technology licensing intern at the Office of Technology Management of the University of California, San Francisco. She performed competitive landscape and market intelligence analyses to assess the commercialization potential of university-owned inventions.

Wendy held a postdoctoral appointment at Stanford University, where she investigated the molecular mechanisms of neuronal identity specification and the events that modulate neurodevelopment. As a Ph.D. graduate of Columbia University’s Integrated Program in Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Studies, she uncovered a novel role for a membrane raft-associated protein in neurotransmitter transporter function, and how this impacts neurotransmission. Wendy’s technical expertise includes biochemistry, genetics, mouse behavioral testing, cell biology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.

Wendy received her B.S. in biochemistry and cell biology from the University of California, San Diego.
