Xiaoran Guo is a Scientific Analyst with a background in life sciences research and a focus on intellectual property and patent strategy for biotechnology innovations. She supports the evaluation and development of patent portfolios by applying her professional background in genetics, cell biology, tissue engineering, and translational science.

Dr. Guo was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship by the American Cancer Society at Stanford University, where her research focused on human lung regeneration, stem cell biology, and single-cell technologies. She brings over a decade of experience in biomedical research and has authored publications in leading journals, including Science. Her academic work on cell migration, tissue organization, and disease mechanisms provides a strong technical foundation for advising complex life sciences patent matters.

Her intellectual property experience includes contributing to an international patent application related to zinc transporter–based therapeutics, as well as assisting in patent drafting, prior art analysis, and patentability assessment. She has completed advanced coursework through the Berkeley-Stanford Advanced Patent Law Institute and Morrison Foerster’s life sciences IP programs, and is currently preparing for the USPTO patent bar.

Dr. Guo earned her Ph.D. in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and holds a B.S. with honors in biology from Lanzhou University. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
