Yuka is Co-Head of the Tokyo Litigation Department and focuses her practice on representing technology clients in IP and commercial disputes. She has experience representing clients in U.S. federal courts, the International Trade Commission, and Japanese courts, and manages global strategy in cases spanning multiple jurisdictions. Also, she regularly counsels clients on various legal challenges they face during product development, manufacturing, and distribution. Her matters have involved a wide range of technologies, including computer hardware and software, communications networks, automotive components, semiconductor devices, and medical devices.

Yuka is an active member of the Licensing Executives Society. She also regularly lectures and moderates panels at patent-related conferences. 

Before joining the firm, Yuka clerked for the Honorable Randall R. Rader, Chief Judge at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Yuka received her B.S. in computer science from Stanford University and her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.

Yuka is a native Japanese speaker.

(Western District of Texas). Representing Fujitsu defendants in patent litigation involving microprocessor products.

Computer Circuit Operations LLC v. Socionext Inc.

(Western District of Texas). Represented Socionext in patent litigation involving DDR technology. Case settled on favorable terms.

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. v. Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited.

(Northern District of California). Represented Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited in dispute over ownership and right to use photomasks used to manufacture semiconductor wafers. Case settled on favorable terms.

(International Trade Commission, 337-TA-1059). Represented Nikon respondents in patent investigation involving software for digital cameras.

Carl Zeiss AG et al. v. Nikon Corp. et al.

(Central District of California). Represented Nikon in patent infringement case over software for digital cameras and image sensor technology.

(International Trade Commission, 337-TA-984). Represented Honda and Fujitsu Ten Respondents in ITC investigation involving automotive head units. ITC case and parallel court actions settled on favorable terms.

(Western District of Wisconsin). Represented Konica Minolta and others in patent infringement action involving digital microfilm imaging. Case settled on favorable terms.
