Zachary Maldonado is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison Foerster's Los Angeles office.
Zach has substantial experience representing clients through every stage of litigation in federal and state court, from pre-suit investigations and dispositive motion practice to discovery, class certification, and settlement. Zach has secured complete dismissals at the pleading stage, wins at summary judgment, and has successfully opposed class certification. He also has extensive experience managing all phases of class action litigation, including developing case strategy tailored to client objectives, conducting fact investigations, handling all aspects of fact and expert discovery, and supporting matters through classwide settlement.
Before joining MoFo's Litigation Department, Zach worked as a law clerk at the L.A. District Attorney's Office Consumer Protection Division, where he worked on a variety of complex consumer and environmental issues. Zach analyzed and organized data sets for environmental matters, in addition to researching issues of jurisdiction and U.S. federal preemption.
Zach received his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, where he served as the Academic Support Chair for the Latinx Law Students Association and the Chief Development Editor of the Chicanx-Latinx Law Review.
Zach received his B.A., summa cum laude, in History from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was a member of the College Honors Program, the Golden Key International Honor Society, and the Tau Sigma National Honors Society.
