Dr. Aaron Parker is an associate in the San Diego office of Morrison & Foerster. His practice focuses on prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and other life sciences industries. He periodically assists in patent litigation matters. He has experience in conducting due diligence assessments, freedom-to-operate analyses, and patentability analyses. He works with clients in a number of areas, including antibodies, biologics, small molecules, and stem cells.

Dr. Parker has a background in stem cell biology, immunology, and cell and molecular biology. His expertise also encompasses the fields of biochemistry, gene therapy, high-throughput genetic screens, drug discovery, and genetics/epigenetics, among other subject matters.

Dr. Parker received his J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as the technology editor for the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal. He also served on the board of Texas Law Fellowships, a not-for-profit corporation that provides summer fellowships to law students interested in pursuing legal careers serving public interest causes. He received a B.S. in microbiology and a Ph.D. in biology from the University of California, San Diego. His doctoral research in the laboratory of Professor Inder M. Verma at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies focused on generating hematopoietic cells from human embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells. He also conducted genetic screens and cancer research.

Prior to graduate school, Dr. Parker worked in the intellectual property department of Diversa Corporation and conducted neuroscience research at a privately held biotechnology company.
