Adam Nguyen is an attorney in the firm’s Federal Tax Group. He has a generalist tax practice that encompasses the federal income tax regimes applicable to the organization, operation, and reorganization of partnerships, corporations, and REITs; clean energy incentives; financial products; and in-bound/out-bound cross-border transactions. Adam is particularly experienced in partnership tax matters and often advises on the planning, organization, and operation of private investment funds and their related entities; joint ventures; restructurings of businesses historically conducted in partnership form; and disputes over economic rights that arise from complex allocation or distribution schemes. He previously was a member of the firm’s Private Funds Group.
Before joining the firm, Adam served as a research assistant for Professor Mark Gergen and as an extern in the Northern District of California. He received his J.D. from the UC Berkeley School of Law, where he served as supervising editor of the California Law Review and earned a number of academic awards. Adam received bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating with Latin and departmental honors.
