Akira Irie is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. Mr. Irie focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation with an emphasis on chemical and electrical arts.
Mr. Irie has represented clients in U.S. district courts and before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). His litigation experience includes pre-suit analysis, managing foreign language document review and production, motion practice, and conducting and defending depositions. Additionally, he also has experience drafting pre-trial and post-trial briefs, preparing and presenting witnesses for trial testimony and participating in patent trials before the ITC. Mr. Irie has worked on a wide range of technologies, including sintered rare earth magnets, SD card technology, light-emitting diodes, GPS systems, camera lenses, dental lighting equipment, cosmetic compositions, pharmaceutical compositions and polymer chemistry.
Mr. Irie received his B.A. from Swarthmore College in chemical physics in 2003 and J.D. cum laude from Washington University School of Law in 2008.
He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is also a native Japanese speaker.
