Alex Kaufman is a partner in Morrison & Foerster’s Palo Alto office and is a member of the firm’s Mergers + Acquisitions and Private Equity Investments + Buyouts Groups. He also serves as co-chair of the firm’s Israel Practice.

Mr. Kaufman advises private equity funds and standalone technology companies on M&A transactions, including leveraged buyouts, growth equity investments and divestitures, with an emphasis on the software and technology sectors. His clients have included many of the leading technology-focused buyout and growth equity funds in the Bay Area, including SoftBank Vision Fund, Francisco Partners, Sumeru Equity Partners, and TA Associates.

Mr. Kaufman graduated, with honors, from the Emory University School of Law, where he served as the senior editor of the Emory International Law Review, president of the Jewish Law Students Association and senior advisor to the Federalist Society. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Kaufman was a partner in the Private Equity / M&A Practice of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He was previously an associate in the Private Equity / M&A Practice of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.
