Ashley Nakamura is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Group in the San Francisco office.
Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on consumer class actions and commercial litigation. Ms. Nakamura has represented and advised clients on a variety of matters in state and federal court, including unfair competition and false advertising issues, contract disputes, tort claims, and employment matters, including wage-and-hour class actions and trade secret misappropriation claims. Ms. Nakamura is also a contributor to the firm's Class Dismissed blog, which provides insights, recommendations, and timely reports on the latest news, developments, and trends in class action lawsuits and product liability matters that affect consumer-facing companies.
Ms. Nakamura maintains an active pro bono practice. She has represented clients in asylum and cancellation of removal proceedings in immigration court, and has also worked on impact litigation related to protecting the safety of abortion-care providers. Ms. Nakamura is a recipient of the State Bar of California's Wiley W. Manual Award for public service.
Ms. Nakamura earned her J.D. from UCLA Law School where she was an editor of the Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs. During law school, she served as an extern for District Chief Administrative Law Judge Jennifer Gee of the U.S. Department of Labor. She earned her B.A. from the University of California, Davis, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Nakamura taught English as a second language in the Czech Republic.
