Benjamin’s practice focuses on private equity real estate acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures on behalf of leading international private equity firms.

He has extensive experience advising investors and operating partners on strategic investments, real estate mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements and corporate restructurings.

Before joining Morrison & Foerster, Benjamin was an associate in the corporate group of another leading global law firm, where he acted for private equity firms, listed and privately held companies and management teams on a range of corporate transactions, including public takeovers, mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and equity fundraisings on public markets.

After receiving his B.A. (Hons) degree in International Business with Spanish from the University of Liverpool, Benjamin obtained his Graduate Diploma in Law and completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, Chester.

Benjamin is qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and is a Spanish speaker.

  • Advising a listed UK property company on the sale of its interests in a London landmark site to a European institutional investor and its joint venture partner.
  • Advising the European partner of a large U.S. pension fund on its group restructuring from the Netherlands into the UK REIT regime.
  • Advising a listed UK property group on a £1.3bn public takeover by its majority shareholder.
  • Advising one of the world’s largest investment managers on a series of corporate acquisitions and disposals of real estate assets in the City of London and Canary Wharf.
  • Advising a premium listed automobile business on its £2bn public takeover by a European private equity investor.
  • Advising a European airline on its public takeover by a consortium including a large U.S. private equity investor.
