Candace focuses her work on patent drafting and assisting prosecution, patent portfolio management, and patent due diligence for clients in the biotechnology field. She also has experience in IP due diligence inquiries, including freedom-to-operate analyses, with an emphasis on biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Candace Britton earned her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, San Francisco, and she has expertise in genetics, genomics, and microbiology. Her doctoral research on the evolution of transcription factors and gene expression regulation was published in Science. As a Ph.D. student, Dr. Britton served as Legal Intern at the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub.

Dr. Britton graduated with high distinction from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. in biology, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
