Charles Cartagena-Ortiz is an associate in the Technology Transactions Group of the firm’s San Francisco office.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Cartagena-Ortiz worked at Google on a wide range of M&A transactions including software, consumer retail, and robotics companies. He also provided legal clearance for the company’s custom “Doodles” and negotiated a range of licensing and inbound agreements for YouTube.

Mr. Cartagena-Ortiz earned his J.D. in 2018 from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. While there, he completed The Berkeley Center for Law & Technology specialized certificate program, that recognizes students who complete a curriculum focused on technology law. He also served as an InSITE Fellow, a graduate leadership development program, where he provided consulting services for a local medical device startup company.
